Damiano & Alessia
A Wedding at Villa Grandinetti, Calabria
Between the hills and the Mediterranean landscape of Calabria, Damiano and Alessia chose Villa Grandinetti as the setting for one of the most important days of their lives.
Their wedding brought together everything I love about filming celebrations in Southern Italy: an elegant setting, beautiful natural light, the energy of family and friends, and above all, the genuine emotions of the couple.
From the first moments of the day to the final celebrations, my goal was to create a wedding film that would preserve not only what happened, but also the atmosphere of being there.

A Wedding in the Heart of Calabria
Located in Nocera Terinese, Villa Grandinetti provided a beautiful setting for Damiano and Alessia’s wedding.
Surrounded by greenery and shaped by the distinctive landscape of Calabria, the venue offered a natural combination of elegance and intimacy. The changing light throughout the day became an important part of the visual story, from the softer tones of the preparations to the warm colours of sunset.
For a wedding film, these details matter. The landscape, the architecture, the light and the atmosphere of a place all become part of the memory.
The Emotion of the Wedding Day
The day began with the preparations, when anticipation slowly gave way to excitement.
The natural light coming through the windows created an intimate atmosphere, allowing me to focus on the small gestures and emotions that often happen away from the main events: a quiet moment, a smile, a look, the anticipation before the ceremony.
Then came the moment when Damiano and Alessia finally saw each other.
During the ceremony, every glance and every gesture added another layer to their story. Rather than directing these moments, I chose to remain discreet and let the day unfold naturally in front of the camera.

A Wedding Film Surrounded by the Calabrian Landscape
Villa Grandinetti offered an exceptional backdrop throughout the day.
The surrounding greenery and the landscape of Nocera Terinese created a strong visual connection between the wedding and its location, while the architecture and elegant spaces of the villa provided a different atmosphere for the celebration.
As the sun began to set, the light became warmer and softer, transforming the scenery and creating some of the most cinematic moments of the day.
This is one of the reasons I love filming weddings in Calabria: the landscape itself can become part of the story.

Real Moments, Naturally Captured
What made Damiano and Alessia’s wedding particularly special was the energy shared between the couple and their guests.
Laughter, embraces, spontaneous conversations and moments of celebration followed one another throughout the evening.
These are the moments I look for when filming a wedding.
I don’t want the couple to feel that they are constantly being directed or asked to perform for the camera. Instead, I prefer to observe, anticipate and capture what is already happening naturally.
The result is a wedding film that feels authentic — a visual memory built around real emotions rather than staged scenes.

Telling Damiano & Alessia’s Story
During the editing process, all these elements came together: the intimacy of the preparations, the emotion of the ceremony, the beauty of Villa Grandinetti, the Calabrian landscape and the energy of the celebration.
Music, natural audio, movement and small visual details were combined to create a film with its own rhythm, reflecting the atmosphere of the day.
For Damiano and Alessia, their wedding film is a way to return to those moments and experience them again — but it can also give those who couldn’t be there the opportunity to discover a little of what made their wedding in Calabria so special.

A wedding in Calabria can be many things at once: a celebration, a gathering of families, a journey back to a special place, or the beginning of a new chapter.
For Damiano and Alessia, Villa Grandinetti became the setting for all of these moments.
And for me, it was a privilege to turn them into a wedding film that preserves the emotions, the people and the atmosphere of that day.
